Redcentric plc strengthens its market capabilities with acquisition of five companies and targets continued growth

Redcentric plc, a managed service provider across the private and public sector, has acquired five companies which have significantly enhanced its public cloud, security and consultancy offerings.

Despite the UK’s ongoing economic challenges, Redcentric’s acquisitions of Piksel Industry Solutions, 7Elements, 4D Data Centres and assets relating to Sungard AS data centre and consulting business, mean the company’s portfolio now has the most comprehensive IT capabilities in the market.

The multiple deals – which have been completed since September 2021 – have been driven to meet increased customer demand and a requirement for specific and tailored IT solutions. These include cloud consultancy expertise in the public and hyperscale space, cyber security and expanding its physical presence through the data centre estate and UK portfolio from 4D and Sungard.

The acquisitions have also added around 650 customers to Redcentric’s growing customer base whilst significantly enhancing its portfolio, all part of a robust growth strategy, which supports its customer needs and market requirements.

Redcentric customers can benefit from an estate of eight data centres, which include national sites that are Tier 3-designed, have the latest cooling technology, the highest levels of security and can provide Sovereign cloud services for both private and public sector customers.

Cem Ahmet, Chief Operating Officer at Redcentric plc, said: “We’re experiencing a period of real growth at Redcentric and the acquisitions we’ve made allow us to provide a vastly enhanced portfolio and expertise, allowing us to give our customers the breadth and depth of services and solutions that they require.

“By taking ownership of our enterprise-grade data centres and infrastructure, we’re able to deliver on our promises and act as a single point of contact and offer a level of accountability only available with services that are managed from end-to-end.”

By mapping its customer needs and market trends, Redcentric identified five acquired companies which significantly expanded their offering:

Piksel Industry Solutions was a provider of application, public cloud and security-based digital transformation and managed services. It has a particular focus on Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure.

Sungard’s data centre business was renowned for its highly resilient data centre estate and assured IT recovery services, with the business hosting and managing mission critical infrastructure for many blue-chip enterprise customers.

7Elements is a CREST-accredited and award-winning business which provides security testing, incident response management and managed vulnerability scanning across the UK, while 4D Data Centres was a people-focused business offering a suite of award-winning infrastructure solutions.

Ahmet added: “We will continue with ongoing investment in expanding and enhancing our portfolio, infrastructure and capabilities, so that we continue to be a trusted, reliable and stable partner for our customers.”

Cem Ahmet was appointed as Redcentric’s Chief Operating Officer shortly after joining the company in the summer of 2022. He has a wealth of experience across the IT and telecoms industry and previously worked at Gamma, where he was part of the leadership team which led the company to become a circa £2 billion market capital company by the end of 2021. He also previously worked in other roles at BT, Racal Telecom and Global Crossing (now Level 3 Communications).
