It is expected that by 2020/2021 the NHS will be facing a £30bn gap between rising patient care demands and the costs of resources to meet those demands.

With this in mind, pressure is being placed on NHS bosses to deliver constantly improving care while at the same time reducing both organisational and resource costs.
