Three clear options. One trusted advisor.

We understand that every organisation is different. We're here to help you choose the best option for you.

1. Continue to manage your own private cloud

Keep running VMware in your own environment, continue with existing hardware until end of life, or move to an alternative hypervisor.

2. Choose a private cloud service provider

Move to a UK-based fully managed private cloud, built on VMware Cloud Foundation, delivered as a managed service or move to an alternative hypervisor.

3. Move to the public cloud

Move to public cloud on either VMware Cloud Foundation or native cloud architecture.

The future of VMware has changed, so should your cloud strategy.

In a Q&A with The Register, Mark Harrison, Head of Cloud Solutions at Redcentric, explores the challenges and opportunities facing VMware users following recent changes and what this means for the future of private cloud.

A pivotal moment in your VMware journey

Following Broadcom’s acquisition of VMware, the licensing model has shifted with a new subscription-based model and a minimum 16-core commitment reshaping costs and hardware investment plans for many organisations. This has caused a great deal of uncertainty and means that between now and March 2027, you will need to adjust your strategy.

We want to reassure you that regardless of whether you’re just starting to think about next steps or you’re fast approaching the end of your licensing agreement, we’re here to advise you and can help you to understand all the options available to you.

The pathway of three of our customers

Fast move to private cloud

With hardware approaching end of life and licensing renewal days away, one customer needed to act quickly. Redcentric migrated them to a fully managed private cloud, delivering continuity and control, fast.

Cost optimisation on current estate

A retail customer had ageing but still-viable infrastructure. We right sized their estate, cut excess capacity, and reduced VMware costs, giving them breathing space and a smooth path to private cloud.

Phased move to public cloud

One organisation used licensing changes to begin a structured public cloud migration. Starting with non-critical apps, they built guardrails for spend and policy control, keeping costs contained as they scale.
