Customer service – a big deal for smaller clients

My recent visit to the 5th Cloud Circle Forum in London reinforced a view that I’ve held for a long time. That attention to detail matters just as much when you’re dealing with SMEs as it does when you’re dealing with huge enterprises. In an open Q & A session, one member of the audience broke the steady flow of techie queries with a poser that Microsoft, Google, IBM etc all probably don’t hear much. “How do you treat small clients?”.

This provided me with timely evidence that, more than ever, customers want the reassurance that they won’t just become another number on a service provider’s balance sheet. Of course, know-how and experience count for a great deal… but wouldn’t it be nice to work with experts who take care of you as well as your requirements?
