4D Data Centres becomes latest company to be acquired by Redcentric

4D Data Centres, a leading UK-based data centre operator and infrastructure management provider, has been acquired by Redcentric plc, a publicly-trading managed service supplier.

The announcement represents an exciting opportunity for 4D’s continued growth as it forms part of a bigger company, with its focus still on maintaining the excellent level of customer service it has achieved to-date.

Speaking on the acquisition, Peter Brotherton, CEO of Redcentric, said:

“This exciting development will further compliment, expand and strengthen the service 4D currently delivers. Our immediate focus is to maintain the high level of customer service, stability and security that 4D delivers today while providing a seamless experience. It’s important to use that we retain and build upon the agility, professionalism and capabilities of the team.”

Redcentric intend to expand on an already strong portfolio of managed infrastructure services, in addition to offering further choice and capabilities through the wider group. These include highly available unified collaboration services, cloud services and enhance security services, as well as digital transformation strategies.

The restructure has also seen the departure of David Barker, 4D’s Founder and Chief Technology Officer, and Jack Bedell-Pearce, 4D’s CEO. No other immediate changes are planned.

Redcentric plc is a managed service provider which delivers assured cloud, connectivity, communication, cyber security and product and hardware solutions to public and private sector organisations. It has data centres in Cambridge, Harrogate, London and Reading, and customers include Howdens, Hays, NHS Digital and HCRG Care Group.

The company’s latest acquisitions include Sungard Availability Services (UK) Limited as well as 4D following earlier deals to purchase 7 Elements and Piksel Industry Solutions in September 2021 and March of this year respectively.

Peter further commented:

“With these 2 acquisitions, we have now completed 5 acquisitions in the last 9 months and totally transformed the Company. We have added over 600 customers to our base and increased run rate revenues by circa 60%.”
